Clarissa Spencer–Churchill was Eden's second wife. She was the niece of Sir Winston Churchill: her father, Major John Strange 'Jack' Spencer–Churchill, was Sir Winston's younger brother.
Eden's first wife, and the mother of his three children, was Beatrice Beckett. They married in 1923, but she loathed politics and they grew apart from the early 1930s, divorcing in 1950.
Sir Anthony Eden, the 1st Earl of Avon, died in 1977, aged 79; the Dowager Countess of Avon celebrated her 100th birthday on 28 June 2020.
